The 1975-'76 season was active for the Viking Band. Through the Fall, the performers pre- pared for the Winter Holiday Concert and the Second Annual Guest Artist Concert, featuring Mr. Harold Griswald, and County Band Adjudi- cation. At the County level, the Symphonic Band was judged as superior, with a I rating. This rating allowed the Mt. Hebron Symphonic Band to participate at the State Adjudication, at which both the Symphonic and Stage Bands were judged excellent, receiving II ratings. Several members performed for the spring musical, Funny Girl. The season closed with a Spring Concert of popular music and the recording of the Band's first record. Individual accomplishments abounded as several band members performed at County and State Solo Adjudications. President Janet Span- gler was the first student from Howard County to become a member of the Maryland State Band. Dave Crass, Janet Spangler, Susan Hevener and Terri Steen were elected to Who's Who Among Music Students in Ameri- can High Schools. This year's officers were Janet Spangler, President, Ken Rapp and Sue l-levener, Co-Vice Presidents, and Martha Johnson, Publicity. Mt.
