42 Students experience other cultures through The American Field Service Club was very active this year in exchange programs and fund- raising activities. AFS students from the Baltimore area and Cheshire, Connecticut visited the Mount. Cookbooks, place- mats and Christmas cards were sold by club members. The year was highlighted by capturing the Best Club Float award at Homecoming. Mt. Hebron AFS Club members and our exchange students, Regina Castro from Costa Rica and Bente Purup from Denmark, have experienced a fun-filled rewarding year. TOP: Regina Castro. Bente Purup. My name is Bente Purup. I am from Denmark, the smallest country in Scandinavia. I live in a suburb of the capital, Copenhagen, called Bagsvaerd. My family in Denmark is very small, including only my father, my sister, and me. In the U.S. , I live with the Lawhorns, and I have two sisters and two brothers. I have joined the Cavaliers and the Equestrian Club. I am very interested in other cultures. This year has been a really great experience for me. Thanks to all of you, my friends. Love. Bente Hola! Student Senate is called to order Mt. Hebron's student government concluded another challenging year. In an effort to improve conditions around school, the Student Senate formed 1.1.7 a cleanup committee. This committee removed trash from the school area on a monthly basis. Stu- dent advocates were also appointed, whose duties included helping students with their school prob- ,..x. lems. The Student Senate participated in the Kidney Walkathon, produced Vaudeville Returns, and a can food drive.
