At the beginning of the school year Mrs. I3idler's Advance Place- ment English class chose Mrs. Rathburn's third graders as pen pals. At a year-end party sponsored by members of the English class, everyone enjoys playing twister. Mr. Brucker, who helped with the project, assists Lisa Ashcraft in launching her rocket.

Holiday spirit begins in the elementary grades as students begin to prepare for Thanksgiving. Sarah McKinniss, Whitney Gar- verick, and Victoria jordan use an antique nutcracker to crack nuts for a class project. 1 xr: ...F-n ,ai As part of a unit on Indian culture, Mrs. Church's second graders held a potlatch program to show their parents what they had learned. The program included displays of Indian customs and Indian objects, scenes of the life of an Indian child, and a tradi- tional potlatch feast with their parents. Students displaying their costumes and art are fFront Rowj Carrie Columber, Michael Thomas, Sidney Chard, Paula Landon, Melissa I-Iarris, lBack Rowj Mrs. Church, Eddy Best, Nathan Rogers, Seth Jackson, and Shane Smith. In April Mrs. Graham's class held a circus. Students assumed the roles of circus performers and animals found in a real circus.
