MR. MIKE KINNE BUSINESS MANAGER The most important project of the year is the building of the new high school and the renovation of Mt. Everett to get passed by the voters. This won ' t affect the class of 1989. and probably not even the class of 1990. but it is the largest project going on right now. MR. J. WAYNE ELINE PRINCIPAL — 5-12 The most important project of the year is the restructuring of the school to make it a be tter learning environment. Schools should be great places to go . . . they ' re not for everyone. Many kids don ' t feel they can do things well: we need to change that impression. We need to create the school in ways that help kids grow up and live in the environment around them. We are different ... we still aren ' t perfect but we are significantly changing. BOYS ' BASEBALL Positive Attitude by Joe Martin The boys ' baseball team can be remembered as one of the best teams at Mount Everett. The team went into the 1988 season with a positive mental attitude that reflected their desire for success and victory. The end of the season was a disappointment in that they did r Dt make the tournament. However, the positive attitude paid off as the boys won six of their games. r 7 WATSON ' S AUTO SALES Route 7, Sheffield, MA 01257 413-229-6613 Baseball — Top left: Scott Proctor, Jase Doane, David Smith, Travis Ovitt, Coach Wilson; top center: Matt Emprimo; top right: Travis Ovitt; middle left: Scott Proctor; middle center: David Smith; middle right: Ian Law, Russell Hopkins; bottom left: Ian Law; bottom center: Ian Law, Scott Proctor, Eric Vining; bottom right: Travis Ovitt. Because the team was under-manned, there were many troublesome forfeits in the higher weight classes. For example, in one meet against Monument Mountain, we were ahead going into the last three matches of the meet, but due to forfeits, we ended up losing the meet by only a few points. Consequently, when it came to the Spartans, the team felt they won the battles but lost the war! Mr Karl 76. 77 MOUNT EVERETT REGIONAL SCHOOL A CARNEGIE SCHOOL EPILOGl ' E Madame Welch has brought much energy and vitality to Mount Everett. She is a diligent worker and famous for Na- tional Honor Society dinners. She is also known as a caring lady, sending get well cards to those in our school who have been very sick. Her classes have prov ided us with delicious French cuisine and a cultural trip to Boston to see Les Miserables. We will all miss her bright smiles in the morning, but memories of her will always enlighten our hearts.
