Rally Committee Our sports season would be definitely incomplete without the back- ing of the Rally Committee. Not only is the committee the promoter of school spirit, but it also promotes such necessary things as providing transportation for all away games, taking tickets at the entrances, decorating before each game, and publicizing the sports events. This organization has various subcommittee chairmen: Decorations. Virginia Patterson: Publicity. Maria Fernandez: Transportation. Karla Weinzheimer; Card Stunts, Ida Yamanaka: Sales. Rita Preszler. The Rally Committee is under the direction of the yell leaders and song leaders guided by Mr. Jack Smullen. Directing traffic is the main duty of this group. Senior Service Dodging cars is an occupational hazard for the Senior Service members, since directing student car traffic is their main job. Headed by Senior Representative Rita Haskins, the members control the traffic between classes along Grant Street, relieving the traffic jams as the stu- dents' cars leave the student parking lot and they also keep walking traffic moving between classes. Freshman Service Pick up that paper . . is a familiar cry of the Frosh Service members. The purpose of the Freshman Service Committee is to keep the grounds tidy. This group of Frosh are chosen after they have become accustomed to the high school way of life. Being on the job every day is part of their duty. This year at Mt. Diablo tne Grounds Commissioner, Bill Santos, is head of this committee.
