MR. ARTHUR BLOOM Vic -Pr!nc!p«l MR. FERD DIEL Principal PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE The annual recognizes the work and activities of all the students in the school, but especially does it honor the graduating seniors. The graduating class of '53 is the largest ever to graduate from Diablo. In it are students who have attended school together for twelve years while others may have been in the school system for one year. In these twelve years of schooling the seniors have learned from their texts, from each other and from their teachers. They have learned to prepare themselves for various professions or other occupations. While attending school they have been influenced or affected by a variety of problems which have faced them as they grew up. All the experiences undergone in school and out of school have been instru- mental in preparing the members of the graduating class better to take their adult place as active citizens in this or in other communities. As graduating seniors it is good to reflect about the opportunities you have had. about the teachers that have influenced you. about the friends that you have made. In leaving Diablo you will leave with mixed feelings, some of you will be happy to leave and some of you will be sad. The important thing to remember is that you are not com- pleting your education. No matter whether you go into an occupation or into an advanced school, learning continues and your ability to profit from it will determine your growth. It is hoped that while at Diablo you have learned to discriminate well, to weigh carefully, and to judge wisely in whatever field of life you are going. May good fortune be with you at all times. F. DIEL

Here are some pictures of the Quad in construction. The Parents’ Club has pro- vided a hot dog stand named Devils Den and two coffee urns to keep the customers warm. Parents are always provid- ers. but when they club to- gether as have our parents here at Mount Diablo High School, we are extremely for- tunate students.
