JAMES DENT Unified District Superintendent JOHN CLEARY Principe! of Hiqh School PETE KRAMER Dean of Boys MARTIN OLAVARRI Head Counselor FERD KIESEL Assistant Superin- tendent of Instruction OWEN COOK Unified District Business Manaqer IRMGARD COX Dean of Girls WILLIAM THRASHER Student Body Financial Adviser ’ Double or nothing'' is more than a game of chance for Diablo. Under unification, the Big Four' administration of last year has doubled. Maybe two heads are better than one! Mr. James Dent, whom we admired as principal last year, is now superintendent of the entire Mt. Diablo Unified School District. The gentleman who bears the august title of Assis- tant Superintendent of Instruction is Dr. Ferd Kiesel. whose job it is to coordinate the instruction from kindergarten to the senior high school. Mr. John Cleary is one whom we all know. La t year he was introduced to us as vice-principal: this year he has advanced to the principalship of Mt. Diablo High School. The business manager of this new unified district is pleasant-faced Owen J. Cook. He is in charge of the unified transportation system as well. Pete Kramer, our able dean of boys, has served us well in this capacity for the past two years. He was previously head football and track coach. Surprise of the year was the discovery that Miss Irmgard Witt, our dean of girls, had changed her name to Mrs. Irmgard Cox. Marriage has not changed her. She still lends her sympathy and effici- ency to the girls and their attendance as always. Our head counselor is Mr. Martin Olavarri. who has the job of arranging programs and fittina classes into schedules. He also teaches a neat bit of typing. Mr. William Thrasher is director of adult education classes at Diablo, as well as financial adviser for stu- dent body affairs. 8
