lPractice Makes Perfect'-- Secretaries Jean Strong, Office Training Club member, works in the placement office just now she is tiling records but she does other clerical work as well as typing. OFFICE TRAINING CLUB Any student who participates in the Cooperative Training Program is eligible to join the Office Training Club of MCI-IS. Students who belong to this program attend classes in the mornings, and work downtown in the afternoons. Members of the Office Training Club hold many different jobs including clerk- ing, secretarial work, and many others. During the year, the club hosts several speakers. Most of the speakers are businessmen and women from Mount Clemens and the surrounding area. Many of the guests are former students of Mount Clemens High, and former members of the Office Training Club. Many interesting topics are presented by the speakers. They often speak on the correct procedure in the office, manners for the clerk and correct dress for the businessman and woman are a few of the topics that have been discussed in the past. These speakers are educational for the Office Training Club members and are also entertaining. The club, which is sponsored by Miss I-Iulda Daeubler, also has many social events during the year, including a Christmas party, a pot-luck dinner, and several other social events. The purpose of the Office Training Club is to gain a knowledge of the business world, and share business experiences. Bottom row: Qleft to rightj Miss Daeubler, S. Lewis, N. Vice and V. Loitredi. 'The Bible Tells Me So' BIBLE CLUB To inspire Christian living is the goal of the Mount Clemens High School Bible Club. Throughout the year, the club has been very active. They sponsored one of a series of morning Lenten services held in the First Presbyterian Church of Mount Clemens. Any student in school may be a member of the club if he is willing to abide by the constitution of the Bible Club. Almost all of the club's members are active in both church and school organizations. Under the sponsorship of Miss Charlotte LaBrew, the meetings are held on Tuesday afternoons. Hymns are sung and the Bible is read aloud. For their excellent attendance the Bible Club received a plaque for attendance from the Youth For Christ meetings this past year. Throughout the year they have had several interesting and well-known speakers. Several of the city's clergymen have spoken to the club on inspirational topics. The Retailing Club Learns How To Sell RETAILING CLUB Members of the Retailing Club of Mount Clemens High School must also be members of the MCHS Co-operative Training Program. The Co-operative Training Program is an arrangement be- tween the administration of Mount Clemens High School, and various clown- town Mount Clemens business places. Under this arrangement, MCHS students who are taking a Business Training course may attend classes in the mornings and work downtown afternoons. The students get credit hours toward a diploma for the hours they work downtown. This pro- gram affords good practice for students who plan to enter the business world after graduating from MCHS, and it also helps the student obtain some extra spending money. The Retailing Club, under the sponsorship of Miss Margaret Tucholski, is made up of Co-operative Training Pro- gram participants who have a job such as clerking, fountain Work, stock-room work-any job which involves the actual handling of merchandise.
