Basically a service organization, the Hi-Y spends many hours in working for the community. Two of their worthwhile projects have been col- lecting money for the March of Dimes and donating a basket for the Martha T. Berry Hospital. Beginning this year, the Hi-Y will cooperate with two other boys' clubs to sponsor the Spring Swing. After their business meeting on Tuesday evening. the members get together for an evening of basketball under the direction of club sponsor lVlr. Donald Adams. To create better understand- ing in the home, community, and school is the club's purpose, and it is open to any boy in school who wishes to belong. The group is affiliated with the YMCA which has recently become active in Mount Clemens. Qften, the club is visited by downtown businessmen who are interested in the YMCA. xo' . . nag, XV. Cribhs. France And lts People, Are Their Pet Project FRENCH CLUB Foreign languages might be hard for some people, but the students belonging to the French club get plenty of practice at their bi-weekly meetings. Games in French are often played following the more serious business meeting. lVluch is accomplished in the short time during which this small but active club has its meetings. Some of the activities which have been enjoyed by the club members were a French dinner at the home of one of the members to which everyone brought a dish of food. The trip to the Old World Market was a very memorable experience, and all of the members purchased some little trinket to remember the trip by. Food was the source of enjoyment again when the French Club visited the Ponche'-Train, the only remaining French restaurant in Detroit. g, e I . fy c. i kia. , French fashions were paraded by Anne Wright, Kay Gregory, Judy Larlee and Judy Skarritt in a skit presented in French to the French Club. 'The Bible Tells Me So' BIBLE CLUB To inspire Christian living is the goal of the Mount Clemens High School Bible Club. Throughout the year, the club has been very active. They sponsored one of a series of morning Lenten services held in the First Presbyterian Church of Mount Clemens. Any student in school may be a member of the club if he is willing to abide by the constitution of the Bible Club. Almost all of the club's members are active in both church and school organizations. Under the sponsorship of Miss Charlotte LaBrew, the meetings are held on Tuesday afternoons. Hymns are sung and the Bible is read aloud. For their excellent attendance the Bible Club received a plaque for attendance from the Youth For Christ meetings this past year. Throughout the year they have had several interesting and well-known speakers. Several of the city's clergymen have spoken to the club on inspirational topics. Posed with the plaque they won for attending the Youth lor Christ meetings are Darlene Schultz, Lynn Small Darlene Rachow, David Opper and Bernice Manel Bottom row: Qileft to righth Miss La Brew, Dirjan, E.
