Monday, the 27th, was the first day of exams, and Wednes- day we all staggered home to rest our bruised brains .... By Friday, we had rested up enough to come to watch the Bather Five get dropped by East Detroit. and attencl the frosh sponsored D hop afterward. FEBRUARY . . . After a long week-end, we bounced into February and Monday the 3rd found us with report cards in hand. f My parents will kill melul On Tuesday. the Y-Teens presented an all-school assembly featuring Dr. Martin Sobel who spoke on Brotherhood, and that evening the basketball squad journeyed to Birming- ham. After only a two-day rest, the squad was off to Port Huron on Friday. . . . Wednesday found the teachers enjoying the annual Staff Breakfast in the M.C.H.S. cafeteria. The next day Joe was back to get the magazine sales off to a good start with an assembly, and the sales, which lasted eleven days, were a big success. MARCH . . March was a busy month on the nb-mn-uname Wilbur ln lit-brnary, the Student Council has its animal ll1Llf.fZ1ZlllC sales campaign. Marilyn Farber and Mike Malbin display the prizes to be won by the top student salesmen in this year's contest.

Chronology good time.J . . . The music department again became busy on Thursday, the l9th, as all of the glee clubs, choirs and instrumental groups presented the Christ- mas Concert for the students, and, in the evening, for the general public. The art department had made a series of huge Christmas cards which illustrated the music .... Friday we all went hither and yon for a long, long vacation. JANUARY . . . January 6th found us back in school with Christmas behind and exams fshudderll ahead. Along with exams, january was devoted largely to basket- ball and swimming .... Birmingham High School was fully represented on Friday the 10th as they journeyed here to meet both the swimmers and the basketball squad. The basketball game was followed by a hop sponsored by the class of '59 .... The next week was given over to swimming and basket- ball too: Monday-swimming, Edsel Ford, Tuesday-basketball, Port Huron, and Fri- day-swimming and basketball at Hazel Park . . . Saturday brought a welcome relief from sports as the music department presented the annual Winter Concert. fThe Band and Orchestra deserve a :hm ...f-' Mixt-rl emotions show 'ill the fzwts of Kathy Kohn, Sally lfaton, Sharon Brownson, Carol Hinmon, Bob Eaton. Dorothea Kuehn, monitor, gets her homework done while on duty on her monitor post. 82 Chronology MCHS stage. A Carousel came to life on Saturday the Sth as the vocal music department presented one of the best operettas in recent years at MCHS. Three weeks later on March 29, the junior class presented Rehearsal For Death a comedy-mystery which was unusual and well done .... On Friday, March 28th, the MC Club took over the gym with their annual basketball game, and, as usual, the game was a riot, and ended the month with a bang. APRIL . . . The Easter Assembly was the first order of business for April, followed by spring vacation. Saturday, the l9th. found the music department busy again with the Spring Concert. The assembly on Tuesday, the 22nd, featured outside entertainment in the form of Mr. Cecil Houghton .... The lVl.C.H.S. Y-Teens sponsored the second of their two annual dances, the Spring Swing, on Saturday, April 26, which was attended by a large number of MCHS students and their guests. MAY . . . MC Acquabelles got the month off to a good start with their annual water r ,WMM , . Office assistant, Delores Harms, runs the daily announcements and exams onthe duplicating machine.
