Mount Clemens High School's science department has be- come more and more important. The department has begun to work on a new, more advanced science program which will offer future MCHS students a wider choice of subjects and fields in science. It is hoped that with all the science courses it is possible, that Mount Clemens High School will help train some of the nationls scientists. ATTENDANCE CENTERS Attendance centers or study halls offer to every student the opportunity to do all or part of his homework in school, which gives him more free time outside. lt is also the place where he may go for connselfng or attendance matters. The counselor or attendance advisor in the study hall is someone a student may go to whenever he has a problem. The teacher handles problems concerning schedules, credits, or even any personal problems. The student is able to go to QW . 'af is Nw. One of the most popular courses with students is typing. Those preparing for a career in the business world take it: college prep and general students take it to gain a valuable skill. The department also offers short hand, office machines and bookkeeping. Short hand is designed primarily for those persons desiring stenographic work. Office machines is built to teach some of the modern methods of handling the many details of office practice. Bookkeeping attracts those people who are interested in learing to keep simple books either for personal reasons or for business reasons. The business education department is particularly well adapted to do voca- tional training for students entering the field of business who do not intend to go on into higher educational fields.
