1937 Forty Mathematics SPONSOR: MR. IAMES DEANE President .,..,. ,, Sadie Boylan Vice-President , Berenice Carr Secretary ,,.. ., Helen Cannon Treasurer . . .,,.. ,.... . . . , .... , . ,,,, Anna Bordell The chief purpose of this club is to stimulate a deep interest in mathematics and a sincere curiosity to acquire the numerous applications of this subject. Su- bordinate to this is the purpose to develop in the members a social spirit - a spirit of responsibility and burden-sharing. The former purpose has been achieved to a certain extent by studying and striving to become acquainted with the lives of the men who developed our great science, and also by bringing ourselves to realize how dependent the other sciences and even our very civilization are on mathematics. The social purpose has been partly realized by striving to conduct our meet- ings, and election of officers according to Parliamentary procedure.
