1937 enior History The 1937 Senior Class attained an auspicious beginning when its mem- bers entered high school in September of 1933, for it was the largest Freshman body to pass through these portals of learning . Drawn from several com- munities we did not long remain strangers, but the individual personalities and traits were soon known to others, As most Freshmen we failed to realize our positions, and few in comparison with the upperclassmen, engaged in extra- curricular activities. Although our class membership decreased in the Sophomore year, all pupils took a greater interest in the school, its spirit and activities. As Fresh- men, many of us engaged in athletics, but we now assumed an increased im- portance in sports: several starred on the gridiron and on the court. ln our third year we matured in our viewpoints. Seriousness in individual attitudes now became evident, for this year brought a realization of the fleeing time. The Iunior-Senior Promenade held by the Iuniors in honor of the grad- uating class probably helped to bring out this viewpoint. lt was during this term that clubs were instituted as extra-curricular activities and each pupil was compelled to select one from a group of fifteen. As Seniors we are the Elite of the school. Thoughts of graduation and of future courses fill our minds, ln size, this group, numbering 71, is the largest graduating class in the history of the school. With happy memories the Seniors leave the Mount Carmel Township High School striving for success and the attainment of our respective ambitions. Twenty-fi
