This convenTion was orga- nized by The new Leadership class, insTead of The usual Honor Civics class, which has been eliminaTed as of This year. The convenTion involved more Than 400 people. Congressman Bill Lowery, one of This year's keynoTe speakers, spoke on his involvemenT in poliTics in his younger years, and Freedom in America as compared To oTher counTries under marTial law. He also answered auesTions from The floor. Barbara Bowers, also a keynoTe speaker, exciTed The crowd wiTh her speech on Women in PoliTics. Mrs, Bowers sToTed ThaT 'ia woman's place is in The house-The WhiTe House. This year's A.S.B. NominaTing ConvenTion was a success wiTh The help of The ASB advisor Brad Johnson, Social Science Teacher Barbara Bowers, Eng- lish Teacher Peggy Hughes, The Leadership class, and especially The convenTion coordinaTors PaTTy Bass, Kelly Wallace, and everyone involved wiTh The convenTion.
