VARSITY FOOTBALL PLACES 4TH The Mount Carmel Varsity Football Team got off to a slow start, but managed to come back with a win over San Dieguito. After being set back by Fallbrook, our Sundevils came back with a well deserved win over cross-town rivals Poway High, with a score of 9-6. The team ended their sea- son with a record of 3-3 in the league, which gave them a fourth place spot. Awesome performances were delivered by team members Shell Scott, who played a superb running- back and a line backer, Larry O'Brien-a wide receiv- er, Steve Castleberry who played defensive end and tight end, Wade Linden- berger an offensive-tackle, Joe Gelormini playing de- fensive tackle, Johnny John- son a defensive back, and Matt Gates offensive guard.
