VARSITY JV i» H. Iorio, K. Bedard, K. Wallace, B. Davis, E. Henderson, S. Carlton, K. Saunders, M. Thompson, A. Hunnestead Varsity and Junior Varsity Cheerleaders worked hard throughout the season to become two of the best squads Mt. Abe has seen in the past few years! The Junior Varsity squad consisted of all new girls this year, however by mid-season they had matured into a well organized and highly motivated squad of which to be proud of! The Varsity squad, through a lot of hard work and practice placed a strong 2nd at the Regional Cheer- ieading Competition, which entitled them to com- pete at the State level against the five best Division II Cheerleading squads in the state. Quite an accom- plishment for a young but dedicated squad! The 1986 cheerleading squads were both really something to cheer about! HOOP As expected, the boy's varsity bas- ketball team was a much improved ball club. Losing two overtime ball games early in the year proved to be the difference to not making play-offs. Some fine leadership and determination by Mike Brown and Tom McKean, aided a great deal toward the progress of the basket- ball program. We were, for the most part, a young ball club, and with some hard work and dedica- tion over the summer we should be looking forward to a successful 1986-87 season. -Bill Leggett
