Captains: Tom McKean, Mark Lathrop, Missing: Carol Weston i,. The Mt. Abe. Varsity Soccer team started their season like gang-busters. Winning the first four contests. But life bestowed its unknown fates. Soon the Eagles time had come. They needed that one elusive game to qualify for the state tournament. The victory came and the Eagles spirit soared high going into the playoffs. Mt. Abe played their hearts out against a team which had beaten them 4-0 during the regular season. With seconds left in the fourth overtime Mill River scored the game winner. Which even- tually had Mill River to the State Championship. Lost was the game- over was the season- but more importantly, gained was valuable experience. Coach Hutchinson

The Junior High Boys basketball team was composed of many inexperienced ball players. Throughout the season the team learned how to play together and develop their individual skills. The highlight of the season was coming in third in the Vergennes tournament. The returning ballplayers give next years team some quickness and game sense that was needed this year.
