120 To wallow in the muck of half-ful- filled promises and uneasy compro- mises was not the destiny of the Ju- nior Varsity Soccer team. The team competed in fourteen contests. The team won fourteen contests. The purpose of the J.V. program is not however, to win ballgames, it is to develop players' team-oriented and individual skills. Learning to take on challenges, make good choices, accept responsibility and evaluate one's own performance are the goals of J.V. soc- cer. On the other hand, winning all the games is fun. During the course of our fourteen game season we scored 61 goals while giving up 15 to our opponents. Kevin legs Knox and Brady Redbird Burgess were the high scorers. Matt Pride Buonincontro directed our defense and earned the teams Most Valuable Player Award. Knox was the teams Most Improved Player. The prestigious Kamikaze Award was given to Dave glasses Clayton and Buonincontro. Chris keeper Ge- migniani gave up less than one goal a game. More important than the individual statistics and awards is the team. The players you see on this page are good. They were successful because they played as a team.
