IS) 3 C) Top to bottom: Cathi O'Neil, Becky Crane, Debbie Caruso, Nata- sha Perez, Marion Nor- ris, Dawn Heisler, Sally Camm, Coach Straub, Angel Collins, Lisa La- vigne, Laura Turrisi, Paula Pike, Lee-Anne Atkins, Heather Domski, Johanna Hun- ziker, Kristy Myrick, Kelly Kimball, Carol Thompson, Lauren Slayton, Lisa Russell, Kori Crane, Cindy Clarke, Helen Norris, Monica Cousino, Carol Weston. Missing: Mgr Lori Baker, Penny Weightman, Abigail Brooks. The 1985 spring track season brought growth and success to the Mt. Abraham Bird Herd. With our only losses going to CVU and Rice during the regular season the herd once again emerged as one of the favorites for the Division II state title. As the season wore on, the ladies begun to believe in themselves and dream of performing at a level that would bring them a 3rd state crown. Their hard work and performance showed as the following school records were set: 100 meter 13.0 Debbie Caruso; 200 meter 26.7 Debbie Caruso; 300 meter hurdles 51.1 Penny Weightman; 4x100 relay 52.7 Caruos, B. Crane, Camm, Weightman; 4x400 relay 4:22 Perez, Crane, Crane, O'Neil; discus 129-7 2 Carol Weston; Javelin 130-5 Carol Weston. State Divi- sion II meet records were also set by Debbie in the 100 m, and Carol in the javelin. Carol's discus throw is a total state record. Debbie Caruso, Cathi O'Neil, and Carol Weston represented Vermont, at the N.E. Championships. Carol became the N.E. discus champion. While we finished 3rd at the state meet, the season was a success, since the Herd grew and matured into a group that had the desire needed to be a champion. Coach S. Layout by: Sally Camm 100
