For your contrib- utions of guidance to the students, services to the school and public, and your continuous interest in our activities, we proudly dedicate the 1974 AERIE to you, Mr. Magwire. The, Message, Congratulations to the graduates of the Class of 1974. You are like young eagles who have been nurtured and have gained the strength and prowness to stand on the edge of the aerie and take your initial flight. Hopefully, you have gained the essential tools and skills to swoop, to soar and to glide in whatever direction you desire. We hope you will return to visit the nest that is nurturing those who will follow. Good luck and best wishes in whatever you choose to do. Mr . Thelmo jh Principal 'S Message, During the past several years, each of you has been witness to many changes in our society. You have seen increased concern for our envi- ronment, the ills of our political structure, and the continuous increase in the cost of living, to mention but a few. Your high school years have provided a security — a security perhaps not realized. The educational gains enjoyed from your school years remain to be tested, and the results may not be known for many years. The ills of society confronting us will not be solved easily; it took many years to create them. As graduates, you will face many decisions and challenges. You can elect to sit back and cast the blame on others for our shortcomings, or you can elect to become involved and put your edu- cation and common sense to work. You do have a say — a vote — a responsibility to become involved, to face decisions and challenges head on. Don't cop out. Each of us has something pos- itive to contribute. Satisfaction derives from doing the job well. May each of you have much satisfaction with your chosen goals and life. UiiiOiV School BocwL First row: Mrs. B. Whitney, Vice Chairmen, C. Looking anxiously and quietly ahead, he, like the rest of us, anticipated years of excitement and promise, only to be cut off before that first year ended. Although we have gone on, we have thought of him and remembered he was one of us. Abe made a pretty wise decision in sending Judy Dahlberg to Caracas, Vene- zuela, last summer, for in return Caracas (which must've enjoyed Judy) sent her back with one of their best citizens: our delightful guest, Rosa Maria Clemente. She hadn't been here very long before everybody fell in love with her. Her spon- taneous friendliness and enthusiasm, cou- pled with a tremendous sense of humor and a quick flashing smile, render her very outgoing and easy to get along with. This all makes for good international relations. Junior Cioss. OFFICERS: J. Pechie, S. Betz, L. Hill, J. Dohlberg, P. Nielsen. Absent: B. Glenn, K. Esty, M. Pechie. First row: K. Estey, M. Holnon, L. We attempted to have this yearbook reflect the school as a whole and the many experiences we have all shared over the past year, as well as a bit of the previous five years of Mt. Abe’s existence. Without Mrs. Adams there would be no yearbook, for she has devoted many long hours. We are all thankful for her dedication. Recognition goes to Susan Hatstat and her business staff for hard work to make the AERIE financially possible. Many new ideas have been employed this year in the creative layout of pages. I would like to thank Yolanda Hill for her part in this. Thanks go to Lori White, who designed our title and division pages, with much talent behind them. Also, I would like to thank Kim Roscoe for his contributions as student photographer. Behind the scenes are many hard-working students, the backbone of the AERIE. Without their co-operation and time the AERIE would be hung up. Thank you. Staff. I am quite sure that the 1975 AERIE will be a success with our editor-elect Jim Diette at the helm. The success of the 1974 AERIE will be determined each time it is opened and the reflections are brought back now and in the future.
