aniofz Cyan clfiafoz Beginning the school term in 1943 forty Freshmen started their High School vears in M.H.S. with L. L. Lehmberg as sponsor At the first class meeting officers were elec ted as follows: President-Alice Wedel Vice-President-Jean Vogt Secretary-James Krehbiel Treasurer-Earl Roth The class had a party each semester of that school term. Again in 1944, thirty-six of the oliginal class were back for their second vear togethei with Miss Elsie Shippy as the class sponsor Officers for the class were: President-Norman Weelel Vice-President-Earl Roth Secretary-Johnnie Luginblll Treasurer-Jean Vogt Again this year the class had '1 partv each semester. In 1945 the class, under the sponsorship of Mary Ann Taves, elected the following officers President-Bill Unrau Vice-President-Margie Graber Secretary-Jean Vogt Treasurer-Alice Wedel Early in the year, as Juniors the class ordered their senior rings from Star Engrfn ing Company. These were received the first of February. The class presented the play Old Doc un der the direction of Mrs. Goerz which was a huge success. Q During the year Maryan Harder took over for Miss Taves who resigned, and it was she who helped us with the Junior Senior banquet The class chose Swinging On A Star for the theme of the banquet. With the banquet we ended our third year of high school In the fall of '46 the class, which now con sisted of thirty-two members, met and elected the following as officers for the coming year President-Max Westerman Vice-President-Lola Goerlng Secretary-Margie Graber Treasurer-James Krehbiel The first semester the class had a hayrack ride to Harvey County Park. In the spring the class presented Spring Green with Miss Hays directing and had their sneak day, which was spent in Kansas City and coming back to Topeka for the night After losing two members in their senior year and ten classmates through four years of high school we had a graduating class of thirty.
