Vo-Tech Identification? Our guess is as good as yours. The Mohian Staff is leaving this picture up to you In Mound Westonka, there is a strange love-hate relationship within the Vo-Tech students. The love to get away from Mr. Humerickhouse, hall monitors, and the whole atmosphere of this great learning institution. They hate to be confronted with their Vo-Tech obligations. Many of these students have received benefits from their work. Such as; on the job training and being able to compete on state and national levels. Course offerings allow students to pursue their vocational interests. Like any other program, Vo-Tech was vulnerable to expliotation by the students unwilling to apply themselves, but all in all, the students express their interest in a field they enjoy. 21

Roepke. Not pictured Doug Johnson DECA MOEA During the 83-84 school year many of Mound Weston-kas students held part-time jobs. The school has two programs which allows a job to count as a credit towards graduation. Distributive Ed. and Office Ed. offers job training in business and sales, office and communication skills. Many students are allowed to leave school early to work during the rest of the scheduled day. Selling M M's and candles were two fund raisers that the students took part in. But there's more to it than wondering where to look for a job and which plaid suit Mr. Furlong will wear. Many students take part in compiti-tions held in the state and also national contests. Both programs teach the skills needed to make it out in the business field, and the graduates of Mound are living proof. 23
