What was the most marvelous part of all was the friendliness and warmth with which you all met me. You made me feel, to belong here, I was not really a foreigner, at least that is what I experienced. For me there was never a dull moment here and I have not been homesick, although everybody had told me I would be. I only wish that my Austrian family and friends could have been here, because it is going to be hard for me to describe to them what this year meant to me. My family, the 'I'harps, are exceptionally great people. I felt at home in their circle immediately, and I only hope I could contribute at least a little bit of myself to this great friendship. All in all I received more thanI ever will be able to repay. I even enjoyed going to school here, it is much freer here than in Austria. Walking through the halls was great, everyone smiled and greeted me. I could go on describing things I liked here, but all I want to do is to thank you for everything you did for me. I hope I will see you all again whenI come back, and that at least some of you are going to visit me in Austria. I will always remember you! The paper had a more casual but a more opinionated air as the majority of the articles were written on school issues. The paper came out about once a month. Besides the usual Homecoming and Sno-Daze ac- tivities which it sponsors it also sponsored the dedication ceremonies, two assemblies, the Women's Lib and Human Rights, obtained a pop machine and brought back the sale of ice cream during lunch mods. They formed 3 Curriculum Change Committee. Several meetings were held with the faculty and students invited to attend to further communication. Many changes were noticed under the new consti- tution, especiall the new process of electing officers. This new pro- cess brought a bigger cross section of the student body and the people elected were more interested. LEFT: Joy Swanson presents a proposal at Student Council.
