The juniors and seniors were awarded pins by Jackie Walters and Keith Kullberg. Dana Chabot gave the welcoming address following the introductions by Kent Van Liere. Student speakers included Susan Rines, Charles Oberg, Charlien Rezba, Elizabeth Gilmore and Nancy Lange.

Bert larjon, repreienting the Mound Chamber of Commerce, pre»ent» the Yo»t Memorial Award to John Skinner. The Yost Memorial Award is given each year by the Mound Chamber of Commerce to the senior boy outstanding in athletics, scholarship, service, character, leadership, and cooperation. This year it was given to John Skinner. Student Awards This year the Mathematics Award was given to Gary Lee. He earned this award by achieving the highest rating on the National Mathematics Test. Dana Chabot received the Minneapolis Star and Tribune's Leadership and Service Award. He was chosen for his outstanding participation and accomplishments as a student at Mound High School. Twenty-one scholarships were given to Mound High School seniors at commencement exercises May 29 for either trade school or college attendance. Those receiving the scholarships were James Fox and Ginny Ganzel, the senior class scholarship; Debra Hamlett and Wesley Walton, the Mound Federation of Teachers scholarship; Daniel Sinner, Elizabeth Gilmore and Shirley Bailey, Tonka Corp. scholarship; Martha Woodward and Sara Smith, the Women's Club of Mound scholarship; Thomas Bennett, the North Shore Women's Club scholarship; Charles Oberg, the Mound Medical Clinic scholarship; Carl Buell, Mound Rotary Club scholarship; Karen Mey, the Mohawk Mrs. Jaycees scholarship. Those who received Advance Foundation, Inc. Scholarships were Charlien Rezba, Janet Olson, Colleen Norton and Barbara Kuschill. The American Legion Auxiliary award was given to Susan Rines and the American Legion Auxiliary award in memory of Nate Gellman was presented to Nancy Lange. The two scholarships given by the Coordinating Council of District 277 P.T.A.'s were received by Elizabeth Coulter and Bradley Landsman.
