The course revolved about the early history of our country. Along with the numerous “revolutions and rebellions’ studied, reports were given throughout the year. Because all social sciences are required of students, every junior had the opportunity to advance his knowledge of wbrld history. Civilizations, current issues and events, and extensive study of different areas of the world comprised the subject areas. Senior Social Studies concentrated on three main areas. Sociology covered human behavior, individual habits and human nature. In Economics the seniors studied the American economic system as compared to others. The main math courses this year included plane geometry II. advanced algebra III and solid geometry-trigonometry. In plane geometry or Math II the students studied basic geometric properties such as perimeters, areas and volumes of geometric objects. Students enrolled in advanced algebra or Math III learn how to solve quadratic equations, logarithms, trigonometric functions and other aspects of algebra. Three dimensional relationships were emphasized in solid geometry, while triangles and distances were included in the study of trigonometry.
