There, Mother fLinda Landisb re- modelscoffee grinders into lamps, while Father fGary Berrethj tries to write a best seller novel in a blitz of interruptions instead of in that country quiet which he sought. In the blitz, he ignores the arrival of johnathon Rockwood fRichard Gutenkunstj and his wife Mathilda Qjudy Hardmeyerj, who have the right to live in the Gage house. No one had worried about that clause in the deed, since the Rockwoods were supposed to be dead. During all this time Gage's lawyer, Mr. Loomis Ulm Kramerj is trying to rid the household of the Rockwood family. Barbara's boyfriend George Qim Burchamj doesn't appear at the right time, and Barbara Wiolet Haberstrohj and the RockWood's son Matt CSteVe Grantj go out on an errand of mercy when a blizzard clamps down. Because Matt has a bad reputation, Frieda fElaine Weilerj The Gage's maid has resigned from her job. The storm continues and the two families are isolated. The electric lines fail--and the oil-burner and the range won't work. Mother forgot the food anyway! ln the freezing house, while the Gages breakfast on what's left---cornflakes, molasses, and olives!--from the rooms of the unmodern Rockwoods come gusts of warmth from their woodburner, and the smell of coffee and frying ham. The Gages rally around Father and his cornflakes and olives, until they smell the Rockwoods' fresh biscuits! Then they desert Father. He accuses his two small daughters Sarah CNoreen Millsb and Paula Ganice Domjahnj of being traitors. It even ap- pears that Barbara has eloped with the Rockwood's son. lt looks like it will end in com- plete disaster! But Sherrif Carson fDean Kelschj brings the good news that George has not left town. Uncle Walter CGeorge Hernerj brings tidings of great joy that the Gorleys had a new addition to the family. The play, presented in mid-April, was directed by Mr. Dale Magstadt with Ren'e Gilbert as assistant. 16
