Judy Nelson is content to just make something. Does it gobble. possibly? Paint. some paint brushes, an easel. a group of eager and talented girls . . . Combine all of these things and you have any one of the many art classes here at Mercy. lt may be freshmen just beginning to explore the vast held ot' art or the sophomores designing posters. Again. it may be the juniors molding eeramies or seniors doing the work of their ehoiee. At all times ol' the day you will find the art room alive with activity. Little kindergarten people with perfect profiles make pretty models for the artistic hands of Margaret Lind and Ellen Marshall as they learn to make silhouettes.

Train leaving for Mathlandl Last call lor Miss Mercy. Tickets to he purchased for the small price of a little study and hard work. First on the agenda is a trip to the land of Algebra I. Here live the challenging x's and y's that combine to equal z's. Next the tour features a quick trip to Plane Geometry Town. Waiting to greet all guests are Mr. and Mrs. Triangle who will now provide a grand expedition through their spherical plane. Friendship is waiting after a pleasant visit with the Formula Family. Then go on to Algebra II and Trigonometry, where any and all will find the complete satisfaction of knowing they have learned much in these lands of advanced math. Whether it's a parallel or perpendicular freshman math students Carol Franke and Beth Busam will soon know. fwA1'le iAe afAemafician5 Solve qleir rodlems ls this 4th year math or an art lesson? Ruth Behrens and Mary Juengling agree it's math and quite difficult. As lan Fischer explains the intricacies ol a geometry problem. Angela Valentine scems to disagree with her. - 25 .. ff,

The answers are yes and no , Yes, you're likely to hear a baby crying because the Homemaking ll classes are taking a course in child care. And, no. high school girls are not playing with doll houses, but practicing interior decorating on a miniature scale. You may even have smelled the wonderful aroma of the cookies that the foods classes baked for P.T.A. These are just three of many ways that Miss Mercy learns homemaking. earn any sefill Xi Babys first bath presents no real difhculty for junior Lynda Dorrington as she gently washes his head under the watchful eye of Miss Runge, Red Cross instructor. That soup smells good, comments Mrs. Cunningham as cooks. Linda Gartner and Charlene Heid stir on and on. Cheese sticks pipin' hot will soon be served by Janet Solomon with Kathy Schultz and Monica Schaefer's help. H'
