IT IS POPULAR TODAY to think about the future in terms of trips to the moon and outer space. In contemplating their future the seniors soon become aware of the more practical aspect of their immediate future and relegate astral visits to the realms of science fiction. The senior takes stock of the basic preparation of his schooling. He considers himself fortunate if he has had the ideal preparation of a Catholic education. The diploma he holds is his key to the doors of the future in a competitive world. The time of graduation is full of aspiration, yet there lingers in his mind reminiscence of the happy days gone by. In the glow of memory he looks back warmly upon the years he has spent. A senior never forgets his first day as a high school freshman. He started out timidly, afraid of his teachers, afraid of his studies, afraid of the giant seniors walking the halls. Perhaps, he was even afraid of himself. But he soon became accustomed to his new surroundings and went on with his successes and failures, met new friends, saw them come and go. Often the tear edging from the corner of his eye showed that he real- ized that one day he too would graduate and leave all this behind. Now he faces the future. His success can no longer be measured by a report card. It is to be measured by how well he can apply all he has AL XMI' 4 11 ' -' 1 I 4 1-' wi Lv 33 A -' W I - M x. -' A L.-.. f 7' ..
