Stat- ford, F. Daniele, J. Grainger, R. Kirwan, R. Bar- rett, D. Phelan, J. Coronna, T. Rogers, R. Wilson, J, Baranello, J, O'Dwyer, and J. Ryan. The Cubs' record of six wins and ten losses is one of the best for Freshmen at Trinity. The six wins include victories over Chaminade, St. Michael's, twice over Brooklyn Prep, and twice over Cathedral. The losses came at the hands of St. John's, Loughlin, Xavier, St. Francis, and the Madison Square Boys Club, Bro, Thomas Stanley served as moderator for the Cubs. CH ERLEADERS N SPURRING the Tigers on to many triumphs, the cheerleaders contributed greatly to the success of our basketball season. Who can forget their viva- cious rip-rip-rip, rap-rap-rap and boomalaca, boomalaca, sis boom bah. These young cheer- leaders served up their fight and pep under the effective direction of Bro. Michael Robl. Able cheerleaders, indeed, were T. Kuhn, R. McGrath, and V. Abbott. ' ml Cheerleaders R. McGrath, T. Kuhn, and V. Abbott leap high at the Parade Grounds. MA AGER ERVING in a little publicized, but highly impor- tant capacity in our sports department are the managers. Of the many students who volunteered, four of the most capable and most dependable were chosen. These included Joe McGibbon, manager for three successive Years, tirnekeeper, Dominick Cu- trone, manager for two years, scorekeeper, and Anthony Parra and Frank Leibman who took care of the basketball equipment. Getting things ready for the evening game are J. McGibbon, D. Cutrone, A. Parra, and F. Leibman. Looking over their record are T. Deneen and G, Savio, seated, and P. Gundel and P. Kennedy, standing. J. Groarke looks over his favorite emblem as J. Rose, T. Lilly, and P. Hoban pack away their uniforms. But under the tutelage of Coach Chick Keegan they were well drilled in the funda- mentals of fine basketball and next year play- ers such as Pete l-loban and Tom Deneen should be ready for Varsity berths. ln gaining their four wins, the Jayvee twice conquered both Brooklyn Prep and St. John's Home. Their losses include St. Francis, St. John's, Loughlin, St. Augustine's, and St. Michael's. Other squad members are D. Hoeg, R. Groarke, W. Schle- belhuth, R. Boesch, T, Lilly, F. Gundel, J. Rose, W. Balfe, P. Kennedy, and J. Savio.

De- ficient fielding and lack of relief hurlers cost Trinity four of their first six games. The only effective hurlers for the Tigers were Sal Villani and John Cleary. Villani won four games against St. Augustine, Loughlin, Cathedral, and St. Michael's, while dropping one to Loughlin. Cleary also downed Cathedral and St. Michael's and his losses to St. Francis Prep, St. John's Prep, and Brooklyn Prep were all I JJ' f A Jim Duncan lm lvl THE VARSITY Coach Chick Keegan gives Sal Villani some pointers on sliding.
