W flaw N A cold, wintry morning in February, I947, forty-two chilled Freshies strolled up to the door of Trinity. All were clad in clean clothes to start their first day of high school. The adventure of a life time was about to begin and four years of hard work seemed a lot to these new Freshmen. They got down to business the first week and elected their class of- ficers, They are W. Lewis, President, R. Walsh, Vice-President, and F. Fochtman, Secretary-Treasurer. Later at an assembly, the class elected O. Youngberg to be their Student Council representative. Though the class didn't reach its quota in the Marianist Drive, we did gain a solid five hundred twenty- eight per cent. A few of the first termers who helped the class to tiki RECESS: Talking things over during the mid-morning recess are E. Garrigan, E. McCarty, F. Moran, J. Love, P. Farrell, and J.Walpole. INTERVIEW: Bro. Michael Robl, S.M.j moderator of the Student Council, explains its functions to President, W. Lewis, Secre- tary, F. Fochtman, and Vice-President, R. Walsh. BIOLOGY: G. Emerick explains the vital parts of a frog to his interested classmates J. McManus, C. Mailloux, J. Marren, and D. Tolan. EUROPE: l-lere's the trouble spot, boys, says F. Marley to W. Erbacher, R. Donahue, P. Hartmann, and G. Gliozzo. R. Mullin backs him up. 30

Rose, captain, J. O'Dwyer, W. De Biase, K. Davitt, V. Zustovich, and S. Prudente. The second team con- sisted of D. Phelan, captain, J. Co- ronna, A. Cummings, F. Nolan, H. Graber, G. Shea, H. Larsen. On the third team we find R. Barrett, cap- tain, J. Stafford, R. Fertig, J. Yaeg- er, J. Gruhn, and G. Murray. Their record in the tournament will give incoming Freshmen something to strive for. ln the second term's Cactos group are: J. Donovan, R. Bates, J. Carroll, J. Chinnici, J. Gruhn, R. Jacobsen, H, Larsen, F, Schmidt, M. Strack, and J. Zwerenz. And representing the class in the orchestra are A. Tripoli and H. Graber. tnktt PLANNING: With an eye to the future, V. Zustovich, Representative, J. Kelly, Vice- President, F. Keuntje, Secretary, Bro. Thomas Stanley, S.M., and K. Koch, President, discuss school events. PROBLEM: Probing some scholastic worry are J. Stafford, F. Nolan, W. Rose, M. Strack, and G. Shea. CRITICS: H. Larsen, R. Fertig, D. Phelan, J. McGuinness, and T. Hyland examine the library's latest supply of new books. SOCIAL STUDIES: J. We're sure our class will be one ofthe outstanding classes ot the next four years. Intramural basketball saw twenty- tour first termers, composing three teams, try for a place in the league. The class is doing well in most of its courses under the guidance of its able teachers, and it promises to do well in its scholastic standing. tiff DISCOVERY: A surprised M.
