W WW . E, the third term of Trinity High School, have been called one of the best in the school in all departments - scholastic, athletic, and extra-curricular. This honor is the result ofthe hard work and driv- ing school spirit which characterizes a third termer. The third term is represented in the various extra-curricular depart- ments by outstanding men of the class. In music, for instance, those third termers who have distinguished themselves are J. Gahrman, F. An- nunziata, and F. Magan. A Catholic Action group has been formed and is generally recognized as the best in the school. The members are J. McDermott, D. Mackay, E. Hughes, T. Rooney, A. Ryan, A. Moran, T. Rufer, and B. McCormack. The third term has, in the last Marianist Drive, achieved recognition as the best class in the school, in fact, in the nation, with a record breaking one ir1k'k'k ALGEBRA: A. Cangelosi and F. Annunziata present their side of the problem to A. Renz, E. Bermingham, J. Kenny, and R. Kirwan. NICK: J. Sweek literally tears poor Nick apart for the biological benefit of T. Rogers, J. Hall, F. Hartman, G. Deinhardt, and R. Lewis. LOCKERS: Getting out the books they will need for their afternoon courses are R. Horsting, T. Fitzgerald, J. McDermott, A. Ryan, and J. Riches. TEST: lt's an old game. W. Fitzgerald and R. Wilson match wits and strength for the interest and amusement of M. Gornrad, R. McNamara, J. McSherry, and V. Abbott. 26

Matos are active members in the schooI's Catholic Action Club. Serv- ing on the staff of the schooI's paper are J, Markey and F. Matos, report- ers, F. Dunseith and P. Rovtar, art- ists, Ernest Stumpf, columnist, and P. McCann, sports writer. In the Marianist Drive G. McKnight, J. Crean, R, Keating, and J. Markey were among the high sellers in the class. The heads of the class govern- ment are P. McCann, President, R. Boesch, Vice-President, and F, Dun- seith, Secretary-Treasurer. Once known as the Fighting Third , the fourth term still has plenty of fight and it will remain with them until they become an Exultant Eighth , a goal worth fighting for. tiruki' LEADERS: Bro. Stumpf, R. McLean, J. Jackson, R. Leonard, and P. Neubeck study a map of the Empire State. INK: H. Watson helps himself to the class's ink as J. Markey, P. McDonald, J. Carrick T. Shear, and F. Matos wait their turn. TIME-OUT: This in-between-class discus- sion brings together C. Faillace, G. Fleig, T. Kuhn, D. Hoeg, J. Johnson, J. Groarke, and J. Baker. 25

The athletic field has also been exploited by this term. The Trinity freshman team is enjoying one of its best seasons in many years mainly because its nucleus and starting tive is composed mainly of third termers. These hardwood stars are F. Slattery, J. Grainger, F. Daniele, J. McSherry, R. Kirwan, R. Wilson, T. Rogers, J. Ryan, and J. Baranello. Baseball also has its attractions for the third term, J. Grainger, M. Burns, R. Kir- wan, F. Daniele, R. Delaney, and J. McSherry are promising prospects for the J. V. team. Leading the class in all these en- deavors are J. Ryan, President, F. Daniele, Vice-President, and R. De- laney, Secretary. We are well on our way to becoming the outstanding class in the school and we will not stop until we have reached the top. iriririr OFFICERS: Secretary, R. Delaney, presents a problem to Vice-President, F. Daniele, Bro. Paul Boeckerman, S.M., and President, J. Ryan. ROSARY: A decade of the beads a day is the rule tor students of Trinity as shown by A. Moran, D. Mackey, B. McCormack, T. Rooney, W. Gorman, and G. Mclnerney. DISCUSSION: Enjoying one of R. McGrath's witticisms are N. Manning, P. Keogh, J. Hood, and F. Magan. T. Ruter seems more interested in the camera. GREETING: J. Baranello seems to be look- ing for someone from among J. Grainger, E. Hughes, P. Smith, J. Gahrman, F. Slattery, and M. Burns. 27
