f x Qlhurrh uf the illlnnt llinlg Nam? 6363 ST. CHARLES AVENUE NEW ORLEANS 15. LA. My dear Students: The publication of this Year Book will bring to a close the scholastic year 1946-1947. As in the past , we look forward to the Year Book in order to review your many accomplishments of the year. We have been proud of you during the year and will renew that sense of pride , in restrospect , every time we look through the Year Book in years to come. In viewing the Year Book, a sense of deep gratitude should be ours--gratitude to Almighty God for the many blessings He has deigned to bestow upon our school g gratitude that through the generosity and cooperation of many, your Catholic schooling has been made possible. When uncertainty and sufferings are prevalent in so many lands , we should feel grateful to a Loving Father for the solid foundation of our Catholic Faith and for His extreme kind- ness in sparing us the agonies of soul and body of millions throughout the world. If your Catholic education has done anything for you, we sincerely hope that it has inculcated both the understanding and practice of Christian Charity. To you, to me and to all of us, is given the opportunity to put into practice the lessons Christ taught us through our Catholic training--love and help of the neighbor, regardless of race , color or creed 3 to contribute in whatever way we can to the alleviation of the miseries of a suffering humanity. One effective way by which Holy Name Students can show gratitude for their Catholic education is to be an example to others in their daily lives, examples of upright characters and spotless behavior. Your good example will not only show the true worth of a Catholic training, but will also make parents strive to send their children to a Catholic school. Before closing, I wish to extend my thanks to all who have in any way helped Holy Name School--to the Sisters, Parents and Students and the many kind friends. God bless and reward you most abundantly. Waffzen Benanii, S - Pam wx i W. XR R Xa! l i
