Among other titles, the girls softball team rolled its wa y to the state championship. The championship was the first of its kind in Mississmpiis history. In prior years district playoffs were held, but there was never a state level competition. It was a first for Moss Point and a first for Missis- sippi. The Lady Tigers paved the way for their success with hard work and dedication. They began prac- ticing during late summer and devoted several hours a da y to practice. Running was a major part of their regimen t. The team 19 grea test assets, however, were the players themselves. Th e y were eX- ceptional athletes with taleh ts for the offense and defense. It may not be the most hectic, but the juniors' year was certainly challenging. Not only did they remain spirited through- out the year but they also took the task of planning the junior-senlor prom. Not once did the juniors complain but worked diligently to achieve their goal of sponsoring the best prom ever. The juniors felt it was all worth it, because next year they can sit back and watch. Brothers and sisters always tried to make agreemen ts before they got to school: if you do not tell, I won't tell. For in- stance, a girl kissed her boy- friend and it got around school. Will her brother find out and tell? Also, the broth- er made an F on his nine weeks test, and he changed the grade to a 9 . Will his sister tell their parents about it? No, neither told because of their prior agreement. It worked out just right. Hav- ing a sister or brother is not all bad and tattletailing. Twins get into trouble to- gether to make everything fun. Identical twins can trade places with each other. Although all twins are not identical, it was fun just be- ing and looking like someone else at school. In twinslopin- ions, they got along with their mate pretty well this school year. Some people said that they would give an ything for a brother or sis- ter in school with them. Oth- ers agreed that sisters and brothers are just a pain!!! Even though they were in the middle, juniors played a vital role in Moss Pointb stu- dent body. The juniors couId in fact have been called Moss Point? heart and soul. While seniors waited in anticipation for graduation and sophomores were still getting oriented, the juniors were full of class spirit. Juniors began the yearglad they did not have to suffer through the trials of being a sophomore again and ended the year con- templating summer vacation and the challenge ofbeing a sen- ior. With the end of the year came the JunionSenior prom and all the preparations that must go in to such a grand affair. From decorations to menus, the juniors were responsible for pulling off this special occasion in honor of the senior class. They are only juniors once and they made it a year to remember for their class and the whole school, a year that is - HW01? TH A SECOND GLANC . One of the greatest occu- pations of students at Moss Point High School was passing notes. Notes were as important as newspapers and tele- phones. Notes passed in- cluded the latest gossip and current happenings. Teachers w?are well in- formed from the notes found and taken up. It took a creative mind to de- cipher those ever-pop uIar codes that teenagers knew so well. Not only did stu- dents write coded mes- sages, but they also found interesting ways to pass those notes along. Notes were placed in books, 120- tebooks, purses, ends of pens, on shoes, thrown across the room, and the common way e from hand to hand. Let's not forget the distraction method: on the way to the pencil sharpener, the gar- bage can, or the teachers desk :1 note was passed. But, most teacher's wer- en t fooled by those meth- ods. They just turned their heads. This went to prove that the students werenht as slick as they thought they were. t V'Y 84 Rayner, Lynn Redmon, Shannon Rice, Jennifer Richards, Terri Richardson, Bradley Richardson, Jennifer Richardson, Jeremiah Riley, Dominick Riley, Tracey Roberson, Natisha Robbins, Marcye Rodgers, John Royston, James Sanford, Michelle Scholl, Candy Scott, Shannon Simpson, Stacy Sims, Lewis Smith, Angela Smith, Mary Smith, Tim Steele, Kelly Sumrall, Michael Taylor, Merle Taylor, Sam Thomas, Johnny Thomas, Lakenya Thompson, Gatn'c Thoma, Pam Thornton, Robin Thornton, Roy Toncrey, Anthony Trubee, Missy Trusler, Patricia Turner, Eric Turner, Marc Vaxter, Robert Vice, David Vice, Kristi Walker, Tamara J UNI 0R6785 Walker, Tyesha Walley, Rebecca Walton, Aurealfa Ward, Vivecia Washington, Tia Watt, Sharon Watts, Tonya Webster, Shelia Wilkezzson, Doug Williams, Donald Williams, Julius Williams, Princess Williams, Shelia Williams, Tara Williamson, Chris Wilson, Douglas Wroten, Melvin Nettles, Willie Harris, Lonnie Holmes, Tabatha m .
