Some people, like Janelle Carter, like to run home and catch a little TV before dinner. Sometimes after school hours mean rough, hard work, like girlsl basketball practice. AFTER H 0 URS s OUR WAY F It was 3:30, and yet the school was still alive with activity. The band could be heard tooting in the band haII, while the foot- ball field was alive with some sort of event. There were stu- dents talking while waiting for buses, and inside there were q still a few studen ts talking With teachers or making up tests. A strange occurrence? No, this was a normal day at MPHS. The school served as much more than just a place to have classes. It was alive even after K A fun way Kelly Simms spends her spare time is talking on the phone. WSTUDEN T LIFE school with band rehearsals, club activities, and extra projects. Yet all the activity was not at school. While some students stayed, others raced home to eat, watch TV, talk on the phone, or even sleep. Some went shopping or out to eat. Home spirit is great for Tiger nmmentum, as they charge through the ttstarting gate . r N Football season at MPHS - a time to let our spirit and pride for our school shine through. As we cheered for our beloved Tigers, perhaps the most exciting time of the season was its beginning and the first home game. We did it our way by getting caught up in all the home-game hoopla. Fans packed the stands in anticipation, wait- ing to see the ngers on their home turf. For many, it was also a time to watch the band and cheer along with the cheerleaders for the first time. There was hoopla be- fore the game too, as a pep rally was held. tMoss Point won the game 21 to OJ Tickets for the first home game are a The first home game is great excitement, a rare item as kickoff time approaches.
