We, the 1975 Growler staff proudly dedicate our yearbook to a man who has given untireingly his time and efforts to Moss Point High School. Since he joined the staff at M.P.H.S. two years ago as assistant principal a deep respect for him is shared by both students and fac- ulty. His devotion, hard work, sin- cere smile, and cheerful attitude are a few of the reasons he is well liked by M.P.H.S. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Physical Ed- ucation from Jackson University To further his education he at- tended Mississippi State and ob- tained a Masters in School Admini- stration. Believing in all people, he feels that one will get out of life what one puts in. We learn as we touch bases with others, likewise others learn from us. His interpretation of edu- cation is being able to adjust to the successes and failures of life. Education is being able to com- municate with those who have the least intelligence and with those who have the most. With much pride and honor we dedicate this 1975 Growler to Mr. 8 Aaron Jones, Sr. -;Em Wt. curb: Ali EMAMP. .-59;-:' ' ' 9.332.? '- . .. t p 12 Mr. MJ. Bullock Superintendent of Education IVlr. The game was one that will be rfmembered as the great halftime come- bac . Moss Point travel to Pi- cayune for their second GERALD HARRIS gridiron clash, and took with them a N0. 6 state ranking. Each year the Tide plays Moss Point one of its toughest ball games, a rivalry dating back to the days when the annual contest was known as the Cellar Bowl. Al- though the score of 23-0 doesn't reflect it, most will agree this was a hard fought contest. 211 mm kig:i4 . McComb fell prey to the Tigers and we seemed to sense an air of something big . If only we knew what was to come. 212 Our Tigers claimed its' fourth victory of the sea- son by upending the Me- ridian Wildcats 12-3 at Meridian. 214 The Tigers' ability to capitalize on Gulfport turnovers paved the way to a 23-0 washout of the Commodores at Milner Sta- dium setting the stage for what many believed to be the most important game in the history of Moss Point High. BILL COKER Laurel arrived in Tiger town carrying a 5-0 re- cord, and housing a de- fense which was unscored on. The big thing that Laurel brought with them however, was the N09 1 banner which signifies football supremacy in the state of Mississippi. Be- fore the night was out the Golden Tornadoes had 28 points scored on their de-- fense, their record was blemished at 5-1, and the No. 1 banner flew majes- tically over IVIPHS. 215 a-u'tt' ' waz 435 v . k n k- f5 Our team came off their 28-0 win over Laurel a little flat, as they fought a good team from Tate, Florida almost to the wire, before tallying a liomecoming win of 21- 4. 216 BRUCE LEWIS ..-.,- DENNIS SELLERS Coming back from a 10-0 deficit and 4 first half fumbles, our Tigers over took an opportunistic Gulf- port East team. 217 FRANK BURKS The Indians of Biloxi prov- ed a tough contest but, not to be denied the Tigers tacked on their 9th win with a 13-3 decision. We lost some valuable members, but we will have some very promising juniors and sophomores coming up. lVI.P.H.S. was number $51 in track this year also. The track boys practiced hard everyday. The work paid off though - the Tigers won the Pas-Point Re- lays and the Phillips 66 Relays. The sixth period annual staff has suffered through - 50 Yawn temper tantrums, 13 spastic fits of Buddy, and have interupted Mrs. White's study hall 131 times. We have built up our courage 26 times in order to face IVIr. Blackledge and have made lVlailfoto a monopoly. We made 5,339 mistakes, 7 long distance phone calls, skipped 21 classes, used 47 pencils to the nub, chewed 70 packs of gum, used 3 typewriter ribbons, eat 30 bags of Chee-tos, gave one pep rally in honor of the Goula defeat and made 7,486 pictures. In completion of the 1975 Growler, we Seniors, Mary Carol, Karen Hal, Gloretha, Mary, and Steve have become immortal enemies from having to cope with each other in sixth period for nine months straight. After all this displeasure, if you for some odd reason do not like and cherish your '75 Growler . . . l SKIP IT!!! m m MTWI ONALI LIBRARY SYSTEM . :I' E III $4,- M u 87II6 .' 1 :I V '?71 JOJ'IO'vltI n.3,; ,II'A ,1.
