He was a member at the Carnival Ball Court for three years, serving as a'ch Duke his senior year. A member of the cast of 3 ith the senior play and the musical, jim also sewed 't- President of the Student Council his senior year. In the Who's Who, besides being chosen Mr. MPHS, Hm was selected as Best Personality and Most Likely Succeed. And so a hearty salute to jim Williams, i 11'. Moss Point High School for 1974. Athletic, active and versatile are three words to describe Reginald Bivins, Mr. MPHS. He has proved his athletic ability by being a member of the basketball and football teams. Membership in the Spanish Club and the Afro- American Club show his activeness. His versatility is shown by his selection as Most Handsome as well as Mr. MPHS. Reginald is certainly deserving of the honor given to him as Mr. MPHS for 1974. a .V 1,. . l. The National Honor Society is now in its third year at MPHS. It is chiefly a service club made up of students with an overall 90 average and high qualities of leadership, scholar- ship, service, and character. Each year students are selected to be a part of NHS. Approximately 45 were selected as new members this year. They went through a week of initiation and were then formally initiated at a candlelight service held in the high school auditorium. As a part of fulfilling their service goal, NHS participated in many functions. Student of the Month, Teachers' Appreciation Day, Homecoming Parade, Senior Banquet, Fund- Raising Projects, Boxes for the Needy, and community services such as Heart Fund, Cancer Society, and March of Dimes, are only a few of the many services they have performed this year. t noun: somyv sx I1, I 127 President: Art Oliver; Vice-President: Tom Ehlers; Secretary: Audrey Vinson; Treasurer: Sandy Kittrell; Reporter: Lorie Rockwell; Sgt.-at-Arms: Bill Firth; Sponsors: Ada Street, Charles Neumann. Since she first began her teaching career here, she has given untiringly of her time, talents, and abilities to the betterment of our school. Without her we would never have had sets or backdrops for pageants, our Tiger Flash would never have so successful, and we would know less of the Fine Arts. In her classroom she inspired her students by her fine artistic ability. By encouraging them to develop their talents, she made their lives more enjoyable. Her ready wit and appealing way of presenting subject matter, as well as her air-conditioned classroom, made her class the highlight of the day. As both teacher and friend, she urged us to ascend to greater heights in scholastic and extra-curricular activities . . . but never minimized the task before us. She encouraged us, struggled with us, then shared with us our pride in achievement. In our fondest memories of Moss Point High School, she will stand out as one who has helped to make our high school years happier and more fruitful.
