Stauterhas greatly influenced the lives of many teachers and students, who have become better individuals be - cause of their association with him. His friendly smile and en- couraging words have won him the respect and adm iration of all who know him. From his presence his listeners carry away some of his own warmth of spirit . . . his great humanitarianism . . . his owncourage. . . andhisconvic- tion about the importance of ex- cellence in education. The Moss Point Municipal School District is very fortunate to have Mr. Claude L. Stauter as a mem- ber of its faculty. Mr. Stauter was born in Moss Point and graduated from Moss Point High School in 1939. After attending Mississippi State Uni- versity as a Freshman, he went into the service as a marine. He attended Perkinston Junior College as aSophomore and was graduated fr cm the University of Southern Mississippi in 1949. He received his Masters degree in school ad- ministration from Southern in 1960. Mr. Stauter has taught at Esca- tawpa for two years. He was as- sistant principal to Mr. Bullock for four years and has been prin- cipal for the past six years at Moss Point High School. He was c oach for the Moss Point Junior High football team for three years and varsity line coach for three years. Because of his most outstanding service to Moss Point HighSchool, we, the annual staff, honor Mr. Stauter in this 1967 Growler. 14
