BOYS BASKETBALL The boys basketball team played fe wer games than rn recent years due to a late start and also to a group of rnexperrenced players who never qu1te fused rnto a workrng un1t The team was composed of two Junrors and three sophomores for the majorrty of the season wrth reserves of sophomore and freshman classrfrcatron The boys prac trced drlrgently a.nd played hard but games were lost because of age and experxence handrcaps The team played 15 games and lost all of them wrth some losses bemg by small margms A great deal of rmprovement rs needed for next year wrth some help expected from rncomrng students The 1952 53 season w1ll be more boys rn high school than rn several years Members were Marvrn Behnke R C Olson Earl Curlee Gary Cummrngs Murray Alexander James Wrse Darvrlle Blue Benton Barker Ross Muller Buddy Cox Bruce Klrbrrnk and Arthur Lee Beals GIRLS BASKETBALL The guls who took part rn basketball thrs year were Alrce Brasher Joyce Brasher and Rose Lee Crawford as guards V1v1an Ftelds Wanda Wrse and Dons Blansrtt as forwards The substrtutes were Drana Fulp Barbara Wood Drane Wrse Carol Poston, Betty Olson and Dom Adams Of our basketball players Dorrs Blansltt was chosen as captarn for the team this year Wanda Wrse was chosen as co captarn There was much rmprovement rn the guls dns year for they won mne games out of erghteen They took fourth place rn the county tournament whrch made the players feel as if they had worked much harder The coach of the season was Mr W B Parks Jr , who helped wrth the rmprovement of the team A great deal of rmprovement wrll st1ll be needed for next year wrth the help of the mcomtng students and the coach ,, , . - 1 r ' ' Y ' I . . - . ..
