N.... , sq, :wifi yi ' , J' ' li- L5 I ,L ' l lx s , X 'Q-E ...l orton High School! A symbol to all of education ideals. hopes, and ambitions. Here the seniors and underclassmen trod the corridors of learning. Morton High was erected in 1928, and in 19216 it had an annex erected on the south end. Ilefore the annex was erected. the sixth grade on down held classes in the old school building: after its erection, classes were moved to the high school. The high school now has 53 modern rooms and a spacious gym- nasium. Each student chooses his own curriculum, or has it chosen for him if he can't decide. Those following the academic cur- riculum study their chemistry and physics in modern lab- oratories. The Home Economics room is the haven for those on the Home Economics curriculum. The Home Economics room is sanitary and has modern facilities. Commercial stu- dents keep closely connected with the typing and shorthand rooms. Boys on a vocational curriculum include blue print reading along with their other studiesg these principles are later applied in turning out articles in wood, machine, and metal shops. In the lower corridors of the building, where the varsity rooms are, may be heard the enthused tramp of Mortons' athletes during various sport seasons. We follow their paths out to the football stadium, which contains the gridiron and cinder pathg or to the baseball diamond back of the boys' cot- tagesg or to the gymnasium to sec the basketball games. ll.
