Come on, kids, copy call is for 9 p.m. not 9 a.m. Such journalistic jargon just comes natchurallyi' to the people who put out your weekly round-up of news and notes on the affairs of MIC. The Collegian staff, occupants of room 250, begin to write copy on Thursday of the week before the papers Colne out. By Monday, 'most all of the news is inz, and the copy is read for truth, accuracy, and good writing. The staff works into the wee hours on Tuesday when they set about to write headlines and to lay out the pages. On Thursday the proofs are read. for errorsg and on Friday, the Collegian goes to pressf, In the mean- time, the staff has made preparation for the next week's paper. The news must go on.

fomecoming 'i A Y 5 AU DR EY LU DW lG At the end of a very successful football season, Ceven if we didn't come out on topj, we had our homecoming dance., the first in many years. There was an air of excitement throughout the day as the running for the homecoming queen promised to be close with ten pretty, popular girls competing. George Kehza, lucky fellow, acted as master ol' cere- ,Qin :'V iii K ARLENE ARNOLD Queen GRACE WERLETN monies., presenting bouquets to the winners of the contest. Arlene Arnold was elected queen with Audrey Ludwig and Grace Werlein as her ladies-in-waiting. Over one-hundred guests attended this affair with a large representation of alumni and even a few of the younger, married faculty joining the festivities. The line turnout for the first homecoming game in years shown in the picture at the right. Page 26
