1982 October 24 proved to be a beautiful day for homecoming. The festivities started Monday with Hat and Grub Day. Tuesday everyone came dressed in country duds for it was Country and Western Day. Wednesday we came dressed in our best. Everyone wore the latest punk fashions for it was Punk-Rock Day. Friday was the traditional Blue and Gold Day. Monday evening coronation for both Morton and Franklin was held in the Franklin Audito- rium. Amy Bethke was crowned our 1982 Homecoming Queen. Friday afternoon the traditional homecoming parade pro- ceeded through Morton with both Morton and Franklin's homecoming court and band participating. That night the Mor- ton-Franklin football team charged onto the field determined to win. As the final gun-shot sounded it was Morton-Franklin 17 and Milroy 6. Afterwards Caravan pro- vided the music for the Grand March and the rest of the evening. It was a nice end- ing to a special week. FAR LEFT: Michael Davis and Shannon Daun - crown bear- ers.

The crownbearers - Krista Kodet and Jeremy Schiller. Although the reigning Sweetheart Queen Billi Flamme was not present to crown the 1983 queen, the excitement ot the even- ing was still felt. In place of Billi. Kelly Haskell the FHA President, surprised Lynn Greenslit by crowning her the 1983 queen. After the congratulations by the other candidates, the court joined in a queens dance. The music was provided by The Best of Disco Mania. Bottom Right: Is it that you don’t like this Disco Mania stuff Jim. or do you and Shawn have something cooking?
