Fun And Games The halls were filled with signs and fired-up kids for Home- coming 1981. This year's coronation was held on a Monday night in order to let the queen reign over Spirit Week. Amy Lussenhop was crowned our new queen. After the coronation there was a pep rally and bon-fire to pump everyone up for Spirit Week. Friday came with beautiful weather. After the parade, the annual Powder Puff game was held, ending in a tie. Friday night, under the lights, the excitement was building as the Indians charged on the field. As the final gun sounded, the Morton-Franklin Indians came out on top, 27-6! The finishing touch was the dance Saturday night. What a perfect ending for a great week!

Up, Up, And Away The Morton elementary students participated in the Weekly Reader's Balloon Contest, which was a nationwide activity. The students that were involved let their balloons go from behind the school on March 23, 1982; which is the day the contest began. The first student that received a reply was Wendy Pearson, who's balloon was found the same day 112 miles away, in West St. Paul. The winners of the contest received prizes for the balloon that traveled the farthest by May 1, 1982. 17
