Student Council Trip Despite the rainy weather, the Student Council managed to have a good time on their trip. They arrived at the Min- nesota Science Museum in Minneapo- lis and observed fossils, a mummy and much more ancient history before the start of the shows at the Omni Theater. Nomads of the Deep and Silent Sky were the two shows they saw. Then a trip to Como Park was cancelled because of the rain, and instead the group enjoyed some time at Ridgedale. The highlight of the day was a baseball game at the Hubert Humphrey Metro- dome. The Minnesota Twins played the Boston Red Sox at 7:30 p.m. The trip was a lot of fun and seeing the dome for the first time was exciting. Well, where should we go this year? 10

Memories Two long standing traditions were given a farewell by Mortonites this year. On December 19, 1981 the Vikings played the last game at Metropolitan Stadium. The fans went wild tearing down goal posts, taking seats and sod. The Twins and Vikings will now play at the new Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome in Minneapolis. On March 2, 1981, the Morton boys basketball team played the last basketball game at the Morton gym. Although the fans didn't get quite so wild, it was an event we will all remember. Over the years there have been both moments of wild excitement and great disappointment. The heartbreaking losses have been more then compensated by the thrill of victory. Many suburb coaches and athletes have spent many an hour using their talents in our gym. But though varsity basketball may be gone, the good times and the fondest memories will never die, but remain with us forever. THANKS FOR THE MEMORIESl
