Scott Lothert, business manager, and Mrs. Revier go over the finances for our annual. Finally, you have received your 1980 annual! We sincerely hope that you, the reader, have enjoyed our annual so far. As you turn the pages, you will notice they serve as a record of the 1979-80 school year - a lot to laugh at, to love, to look back on. As you can see, we have tried a new idea with our 1980 annual. The theme, Pouring It On” complements the fact that MHS students always give all they have - and more, not only academically, but also in areas of sports and organizations. With permission from the Morton Salt Division of Morton-Norwich, we have printed their label as our cover to coincide with the theme, “Pouring It On. At this time we would like to express our appreciation to the Morton Salt Division for their consent and their courtesy for use of their label on our annual cover. The person responsible for all the artwork, our assistant editor, Dia Quintal, certainly deserves recognition for her gifted talent. Her artistic abilities have added a great deal to our annual. Thank you Dia! To our advisor, Mrs. Mary Revier, many thanks for the long hours of hard work and effort she has given in the planning and starting of this annual until its journey to completion. A special thanks to Mrs. Bonnie Scheitel who also helped us with answers for all our questions. We also appreciate the photographic services performed for us during this school year by the people from Meyers Studio from New Ulm. And finally a thank you goes to the sponsors for their advertisements. Without their assistance, this annual would not have been possible. We offer our sincere appreciation to these people and others who have helped us. To you, the reader, sit back, relax and enjoy this pictorial review of the 1979-80 school year. We hope you enjoy this annual as much as we have enjoyed putting it together for you. 1980 Tomahawk Staff Mary Jean Bryan, Senior Editor

Mr. Gary Nytes - Advisor. Richard Deinken - Vice-President. Judy Lussenhop - Secretary. The student council is traditionally the busiest and most important organization in the high school because of their responsibility toward upholding the wants and needs of the student body. This year their duties ranged from the preparation of Homecoming festivities to efforts to improve school dance policies to the approval of all school fund raisers. One of their most enjoyable jobs this year was their arrangement for a concert by Free Fare early in the spring. In May. the student council went on a well-deserved trip to the Twin Cities. As you can see. a great time was had by all! Q
