Look Out Broadway Because of a renewed interest in drama and the effort of the advisor, Ms. Kathy O’Connor, the Morton High School was able to put on two plays this year. The first play was the one act production, W. C. Fields - Foiled Again, which was used in district competition. The second play was the three act production, Bull in A China Shop. These plays were a great success in the enjoyment, togetherness, and pride it brought to our school and community. Declam Morton was represented well in Declam this year by its three members, Susan Mahlum, Julie Cornwell, and Kelly Haskell. All three competed on the sub- district level with Julie Cornwell receiving alternate and Susan Mahlum going on to the district level. At the district level Susan received first alternate for her speech.

Using many devices, the program demonstrated the story of the fossil fuel supply, energy conservation practices and future alternative energy sources. Following the assembly, the lecturer visited individual classrooms. The students were actively involved in the program, as you can see! 20
