The highlight of the program was the coronation ceremony in which Joy Lynn Robinson was crowned homecoming oueen by Linda Kodet, the outgoing 1966 homecoming queen. Joy Lynn was escorted by Randy Lothert, a ouarterback on the football team. The two Morton High princesses, Monica Kodet and Arlene Mude were escorted by Greg Kuglin, a halfback and Dick Reb- stock, a team tackle. After receiving her crown the choral group seranaded the new oueen with the song The Sweetheart Tree. Other highlights of the program included skits by the various clubs. The cheerleaders won the first prize. The festivities Friday, October 6, began at 1:30 p.m. with a parade led by the Honor Guard, Pom Pom girls, and the M.H.S. Band. Also featured in the parade were the queen, her princesses and floats presenting the various classes and organizations. The success of the team which compiled a lk-6 record was contributed by the five seniors and seven underclassmen, which put many hard working hours in on the practice floor. The season was composed of a few heartbreaking loses but the team came through with fourteen victories. Next vear's team will lose five outstanding senior lettermen. Heading the list is co-captain, Tom Colwell, an outstanding rebounder and had a very accurate shot from the top of the kev. Following him is the other co-captain, Greg Kuglin, who from his guard spot directed the plays and controlled the other team's of- fense. Lee Mammen cleared the board from the right side of the basket and was a consistent scorer from fifteen feet or closer. Randv Lothert was a fine outside shooter and a ball handler, as well as a fine defensive man. Then comes Mike Dallenbach, and aggressive ball hardier and accurate shooter. We bid farewell to these seniors who put together a success- ful season. B Squad Basketball Due to their speed, depth, and accurate shooting, the 3 squad of 1968, compiled a very successful season of llj-li. Bill Shaw and Rocky Sallee were the B squad's leading scor era. The young Indians had some tough re- bounders in Allan Kokesch and Steve Winges. Terrin Kohout and Terry Lothert came through with many vital scores to keep the team on their feet. The reserves also did an excel- lent job of filling the gap when the boys found themselves in trouble. These boys de- serve a lot of credit for their fine record and should provide the Indians with a well- balanced attack next year.
