Athletic Banquet Everyone enjoyed the good meal served to them at the Redwood Falls Country Club The Lettermen's Club sponsored an athletic banquet, held at the Redwood Falls Golf Club on April 10, 1967. Gary Benson, Lettermen’s Club President and master of ceremonies, cordially welcomed the 150 people attending the dinner, then introduced Glenn Mattke, basketball coach at Southwest College, who delivered a very im- pressive speech to the athletes. Awards were presented to outstanding football players and captains for the 1967 season were announced. 'The banquet was the first ever held, and everyone was very pleased by its success. 20

FHA Sweetheart Julie Colwell reigned over the fourth annual F.H.A. Sweetheart Ball which was held on January 28, 1967. She is a sophomore and represented the Lettermen’s Club. Julie’s court included Patti Middleton, Monica Kodet, Mary Gallery, Pat Ahrens, Audrey Kodet, Linda Kohout, Beryl Paul, and Cathy Sindelir. Barb Caven, President of the Future Homemakers of America, introduced the candidates and their escorts. After naming the four finalists, the 1966 queen, Joy Lynn Robinson, relinquished her title to Queen Julie. Queen Julie Mary and Dick The line-up Congratulations, Julie Magazine Campaign As in previous years, the Student Council once again sponsored a magazine campaign as their money-making project. This year the campaign was under the supervision of Mr. Halliday, Advisor; Barb Caven, Chairman; Mary Gallery, Co-chairman. Although the goal of $2,000 was not reached, it was quite successful. Many stu- dents were presented with prizes ranging from cash to stuffed animals. The top salesmen from the school were treated with a free sup- per at the Sweden House in Willmar.
