Sweetheart Queen Joy Lynn A highlight of the F.H.A. year is the Sweetheart Ball held each February. This year the gym was gayly decorated with red and white streamers, cupids, and hearts. The Homecoming Royalty led the ceremony on stage; Karen Vandagriff introduced each candidate and her escort as they came onto the stage. Arleen Kohout was escorted by Joe Colwell, Barb Caven was led in by Gary Benson, Nancy Mages was ushered by Tom Gallery, Arlene Mude was escorted by Greg Kuglin, Linda Kodet was escorted by Gary Ahrens, Ruth Mages was ushered by Bob Menz, Barb Tate was escorted by Dean Ruhland, and Joy Lynn Robinson was ushered in by Mike Tate. The last four listed were finalists and represented these clubs respectively; Paper Staff, Annual Staff, Letter- men s Club and Pep Club. Sandra Wolter crowned Joy Lynn Robinson Sweetheart Queen for 1966. FHA Convention Future Homemakers of America Chapters in Minnesota hold a state-wide convention each year. This year, five represent- atives from the Morton F.H.A. chapter and their advisor, Mrs. Biren, Journeyed to the Radisson Hotel on March U. The girls found much activity at the two-day gathering of FHA ers and their advisors. Barb Caven participated in the all-statd chorus, Patty Wolter served on the Public Relations Commit- tee, Linda Kodet represented her chapter on the Program of Work Committee, Barb Tate was the voting delegate from Morton and Ellen Schweinfurter served as co-chairman on the 1965-66 Public Relations Committee. We extend our congratulations to our own Ellen Schwein- furter, who was elected to represent Minnesota as a state officer at the National Meeting which will be held July 12 -IT at St Louis, Missouri . Ellen will also attend FHA camp at Lake Arrowhead and another hational gathering at Fort Col- lins, Colorado, in the summer. We're very proud of you, Ellen.
