Bob Menz-guard Dean Ruhland-end Dan Hennen-halfback Senior Football VI PS Indian fans salute the seniors of the M.H.S. team for the first homecoming vic- tory in eight years. With good coaching and team effort, the Indians proudly claim a 5-3 record. All district player, co-captain Mike Tate, was the field general responsible for many touchdowns with his terrific speed, fine running ability, and an excel- lent throwing arm. Co-captain Robinson, making the all district team 2 years, led the Indians defense with his commanding spot in the center line. Hailed as the best placement kicker in the area. Bob Menz also helped hold down the strong de- fensive line. Dean Ruhland, the fine of- fensive end, enabled the Indians to come out with a winning season by grabbing many passes for gains of 20-30 yards. Playing both offense and defense, our right half- back, Dan Hennen, often broke up big plays with key tackles, Hennen was also praised for his accurate arm. Leading the center of the offensive line was right guard, Dan Mages. With fine strength, he often open- ed up the hole for the running backs. Do- ing the squad s dirty work, Frank Goelz ran back the kick-offs as well as gaining many yards on the returns. The Indians were second place contenders in the Tomahawk conference.
