They were kept in step by Carol Compton who was the leader of the band. Their uniforms consisted of kelly green velveteen jumpers lined with white satin and decorated on the front with silver sequins. Under the jumpers they wore full- sleeved white blouses. NOT IN PICUTRE: Dick Combs. Kal!!! The entire marching band performed at all the home football games, assisted in their half time shows by the baton tvvirlers. A small pep band, selected on a volunteer basis, played for all the home basketball games and rallies, performing at times under student direction. I The Winter Concert in January utilized the entire band personnel of 28 members and 13 baton twrrlers. Solos were played by Ward Taylor, and Darline Allen. A trio consisting of Rex Hathaway, Dale Steele and James Hewett, also appeared with the band. The very active schedule of the band included games, Christmas program, winter concert, spring concert, Class C band festival, Massed Bands of Lewis County, and Commencement.
